Colorado Springs & Area

Colorado Springs (Map) and the scenery in and around it inspired the song "America the Beautiful" so that about says it all!  Its people are friendly and the climate is exceptional in that it is mild but varied. When it does snow, it rarely stays around longer than a day or two.

From the city there is a view of beautiful Pike's Peak, (Pikes Peak Cam) the 14,110 foot stunning mountain which is well known, especially as a training ground for athletes, world wide.

.

Explore Old Colorado City - full of charm with its quaint and varied shops. Here can be found wonderful examples of the wide and rich artistic talents of the area. Or visit some of the large shopping malls such as the Citadel inhabited by all the big names in fine merchandise. Smaller designer shops and the business area can be found in the main city which has a number of attractive parks.

From the rolling plains, the beautiful Black Forest, the Ute Mountains or to the spectacular Garden of the Gods, the greater area of Colorado Springs offers visitors and residents alike, unique and unspoilt countryside in which to enjoy the many and varied pursuits it has to offer.   It is even possible to both ski and golf on the same day; such is the balmy nature of the weather with its 320 days of sunshine each year.

Within a short drive from downtown Colorado Springs, the Black Forest (aerial view shown above) with its tall tree, lush meadows and friendly atmosphere has long been a rural residence for families; the ideal place for children, horse and dogs to grow up together.  Real estate values have increased over the years coinciding with the diverse and high paying employment just minutes away from the City. This makes this forested area a residential prize in the Pikes Peak region.

Take in a few of the areas tourist attractions such as:

The Garden of the Gods; huge stately and majestic red sandstone rocks favored by rock climbers, sightseers and birds alike.

America’s Mountain - The 14,000 foot Pikes Peak.

Pikes Peak Cog Railway running from late April to November is a fabulous experience which thousands have been enjoying since 1891 take visitors to the summit of Pike's Peak viewing the spectacular scenery along the way.
